Connecting to others

- Andrea D. Magcelo

TEACHING is a noble profession, but sometimes even the teacher is not enough inside the classroom.

The teacher and the student connection is always limited, as the parent and child connection is unlimited. On the other hand, the connection between the students applies a proverb that says “birds of the same feather, flock together”.

They usually group themselves based on their common behavior, academic and interests. But sometimes, teaching is not only teacher-student, teacher-parent, and parent-student (child) connections are required. The studentstudent connection is also important.

In school, the classroom is second home of the students. It is a place where students learn and develop holistically. Since the class is heterogeneous in nature, peer tutoring is a method, encouraged by teachers to help the class learn well.

Promoting a connection between performing and struggling students. This will be the start of developing a positive views for each other, their classmates as well as their school mates.

Instead of competing, students are collaborating and cooperating. The students will exert effort to support one another to enhance learning.

This promotes connection with each student, improving the overall academic achievement and positive behavior of the class. As a result, all students will be promoted to the next grade level because the whole class work as one, to make learning accessible to all of them.
