Gamblers, pusher collared
ELEVEN individuals were arrested by the Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PROCOR) with its continuous campaign against illegal gambling and illegal drug operations over the week.
Following the arrest, PRO - COR regional director Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana assured the continuous drive against illegal gambling and drugs as it vows to stop illegal gambling and illegal drugs proliferation in the region.
“The regional command urges the public to report to the police any criminal activity that is about to happen, happening and those that had already happened in their respective communities for immediate response
of your police force and prompt arrest of law violators,” Nana said.
Operatives of Baguio City Police Office Police Station 9 arrested eight gamblers in the act of playing pusoy in the afternoon of September 10 at Purok 21 Sariling Sikap San Carlos Heights, Irisan Brgy. Baguio City, after a concerned citizen reported to the cops of the ongoing illegal activities.
Arrested suspects were identified as Rodrigo Gallezo Cortez, 62, Ronaldo Gallezo Cortez, 46, both taxi driver; Jefferson Agoncillo Agustin, 43; Gil Dangsi Delos Santos, 53, Emil Gorez Carreon, 44, all construction workers; Chito Dupisen Payadkeo, 63; Audie Bias Demot, 45, and Samuel Fernandez Costales, 51, welder, and all residents of Purok 21 Sariling Sikap, San Carlos Heights, Baguio City. Confiscated from them were bet money amounting to P2,850, and 52 pieces plastic playing cards.
In a similar operation, combined operatives of Buguias Municipal Police Station (MPS), Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and Benguet Police Intelligence Branch (PIB) also arrested Marco Parahas Santos, 32, residing at Monamon Sur, Bauko, Mt. Province and Francis Fernandez Castro, 31, resident of Dekkan, Baculongan Sur, Buguias, Benguet in the afternoon of September 6 at , Buguias, Benguet.
Confiscated were set of playing cards, and bet money amounting to P1, 350.
Joint Police personnel of Benguet Provincial Police Office-Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Tublay MPS DEU, and Regional Intelligence Unit arrested drug pusher Rex Guinomon Labutan, 28, truck helper and resident of Km 18, Ambassador, Tublay, Benguet in the afternoon of September 10 at Kapungan, Caponga, Tublay, Benguet.
Labuan was caught in the act of selling suspected shabu and operatives were able to confiscate buy-bust money amounting to P1, 000, two plastic sachet of suspected shabu and one white cellular phone in his possession.
