Asia super fly crown up for grabs in ‘Great Fights’

FRESH from scoring an upset against former world champion Edrin Dapudong, Highland Boxing Gym's Jomnar Fajardo will gun for the vacant WBA Asia south super flyweight championsh­ip next month.

Fajardo, with 15 wins including seven knock outs will top bill another edition of the 'Great Fights at the Heights' as he sees action opposite Cris Paulino of the Bebot Elorde Boxing Gym whose record stands at 18 -3 with seven knock outs.

The event hatched by the City of Baguio in coordinati­on with Raffy Panagan Sports Promotion and sportsman Atty. Rocky Thomas Balisong will be held October 6 at the People's Park.

Six bouts will also be featured in the undercard of the event sanctioned by the Games and Amusement Board backed by Black Mamba, RCG Global, Tiongsan, Suntrust, Baguio's Finest Security Agency, BAMACO, Paul Lalwani and 4x4 Constructi­on.

In the supporting main event, a flyweight clash will pit Ryan Rey Ponteras (22 – 13 – 2) against Cris Alfante (14 – 7 – 1) while featherwei­ghts Juanito Paredes (5 – 5 – 1) and Robin Dingcong

(5 6 4) squares off in a 10 rounder match.

Undefeated Jayson Vayson (seven wins) takes on Ronald Alapormina (3 – 2 – 1) in an eight round minimumwei­ght contest.

MJ Uduña meanwhile squares off against Orlandino Sinaloba in six rounds while Ian Gasco and Jameson Lingbanan raises the curtain for the event also backed by Jomarcan Constructi­on, M.A. Camilo Trucking, Newtown Plaza Hotel, Fitotech Corporatio­n, Extra Ordinaire Janitorial Services. R.U.A Aquino Constructi­on, TG Home Builders, and Allied Hospital Supply Int'l Corp.
