Police launch ‘Clean Rider’ campaign
THE POLICE Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) launched the ‘Clean Rider’ campaign to gather citizen participation in crime prevention by way of eradicating the rampant crimes perpetrated by motorcycle-riding suspects.
With 462 motorcycle riders from the Baguio City and province of Benguet taking part in the simultaneous launching of the PNP campaign at Camp Bado Dangwa, the program aims to encourage civilians joining in the spirit of volunteerism and civic engagement.
Motorcycle riders under the ‘Clean Rider’ program will be marked with sticker which will help policemen dur-
ing checkpoints in identifying legitimate motorcycle riders.
All motorcycle riders are then encouraged to apply for stickers by submitting the official receipt and certificate of registration of their motorcycle, driver’s license and other valid identification cards.
With these requirements, the police will process their application, and will verify whether or not their motorcycle had been involved in previous violations or crime incidents.
Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana, regional director of PRO-COR Director said the event shows their strong commitment in strengthening and building a strong foundation in our campaign against criminality specifically, motorcycle-riding suspect cases. Let us accelerate our efforts in order that our citizens will enjoy the benefits of closer ties and enhanced partnership and cooperation.
Motorcycle riders expressed their full support to the programs of the PNP in the bid to curb crime incidents perpetrated by motorcycle-riding suspects.
They will also serve as force multipliers in the city and municipal police stations who will assist tourists and other riders by conducting motorcycle patrols in their respective AORs.
“This is also an opportune time to steer the culture of volunteerism and civic engagement in advocating a welldisciplined and responsible law officers of the road, as PROCOR underscores the massive move to eliminate crimes perpetrated by motorcycle-riding suspects,” added Nana.
