Chicken dung trading closed anew
THE third time, a closure order of chicken dung trading operation was served by officials of La Trinidad at Sitio Tili, barangay Shilan.
Closed to 50 men and women composed of Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team, mayor’s office, business permit and licensing office, and the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station implemented the closure order.
The closure order was served on October 9 together with the installation of some 13 wooden and metal posts and barb wire within the trading area to stop the operations of chicken dung trading.
“This establishment being operated by Rose Maliones is closed by virtue of the closure order no.03 of 2018 in violation of chicken dung trading/storage. Unauthorized
of the notice is punishable by law,” the signage reads signed by Mayor Romeo Salda.
The closure order was issued as trading and storage of chicken dung business remain prohibited in the Benguet capital town and declared public nuisance per se by the Regional Trial Court.
The closure order was received by Rose Maliones who also appealed for the chicken dung operation of Melecio Orig to be also closed.
To recall, the Regional Trial Court Brach 62 ruled denial addressing the issuance of temporary restraining order and writ of preliminary injunction prior to the closure order of chicken dung operations issued against officials of La Trinidad last June 2018.
Judge Danilo Camacho stated the validity of the administrative order of former mayor Gregorio Abalos Jr. prohibiting the sale, disposal and storage of chicken dung in La Trinidad.
“Unless Administrative Order No. 008 s.2010 has been amended, altered or rendered invalid, the same remains effective. Thus, property rights being asserted by Plaintiffs as to the utilization of the lot must bow to the Administration order that was issued by the municipality of La Trinidad in the exercise of its police power,” the order adds.
