DLL eases mentors

- Elsie S. Cervantes

THE DLL (Daily Lesson Log) a very short outline of steps in processing a lesson has ease the teacher from the burden of preparing a very long semi detailed or detailed lesson plan.

For the past many years, an elementary teacher is required to prepare a long lesson plan for eight to nine subjects everyday. The lesson plan contents not only specific task but possible responses of pupils during the process of learning. The preparation of the said lesson plan will consume much time of the teacher instead of the teacher using that time to review the lesson that he is going to teach the following day.

Because the mentor is an obedient employee of the government, she has to religiously comply with the prescribed material even to the extent that he has to delay her time of sleeping usually in the middle of the night.

Today, the burdensome lesson plan is replaced with the DLL which the

Educator finds it lighter than the earlier mentioned material. With the birth of the DLL, the classroom facilitator at least is given time to prepare other important need in teaching such as visual materials and technical aids.

Mentors are happy that the DepEd has designed DLL that things that were long captured by the preparation of the long lesson plan, such as research and doing some innovation to meet a quality teaching are now given into focus.

We hope for some more changes to promote quality teaching.
