THE Government campaign against illegal drugs in a national scope is well disseminating the message that the use consumption or sale thereof is punishable by law, but to what extent that this law covers when it comes to drug classification.

Sports is also known to deviate the young from using illegal drugs, it is one activity that promotes health and wellness even for the elderly, However, sports has its own problems on the illegal use of drugs by athletes. It may not be like “shabu” or anything else, but when it is abused it results to practically any kind of health problem.

Drugs in sports is important, thanks to science, modern medicine is working on ways to better improve health and fitness, aside from a solid health regimen as it is for health-related programs: Don’t smoke, eat right, rest right, and exercise, drugs are used as supplementary to better health and fitness, as enhancers for physiological deficiencies.

One unusual report of drug abuse in sports to date is the disqualification of runners in the

latest Olympic Games found to be positive in drugs after the competition, others of the like is the disqualification of athletes in any kind of sports found to be using drugs that turns out positive during drug tests.

Some dangerous ways that drug is abused in sports is the use of “steroids”, while these kind of drugs are strictly to be prescribed by doctors for its use, others use it beyond prescription. To some extent, an overdose or the use of animal steroids for human consumption for purposes of the individual athlete’s advantage in their field of sport.

The effects of drug abuse in sports however may be vital for this affects them physiologically and psychologically that factually determines the descent of the individual athlete in their field of sport.

It is a fact that drug abuse effects are vital however, all these things for the most part, the written off limitations for drug use are things that can be reversed. One of the best ways to complete such reversal is through exercise or joining sports activities as it is well documented. Say “No to Drugs and Yes to Sport”.
