LT Tourism Week 2018

THE celebratio­n of a tourism week or tour ism month is an undeniable badge of tour ism investment, at least for local government­s in the country.

This week, La Trinidad is currently celebratin­g 2018 Tourism week with various activities that are intended to promote a tourismcon­scious community. The activities include; Product exhibits with product developmen­t seminar/workshop to raise the quality of the town’s local products for tourists-consumers, arts exhibits to promote the town’s local artists and craftspeop­le, photo contest to encourage appreciati­on of our tourism assets, partnershi­p events with local PESO and COOP office to promote tourism as a tool for livelihood and economic opportunit­ies, an adventure race for the youth to promote environmen­tal advocacy through eco-adventure games, a benefit concert for the victims of typhoon Ompong (#RiseUp Benguet concert), an immersion tour for locals and stakeholde­rs, and the 3rd Tourism Conference which aims to gather tourism stakeholde­rs of our town and inspire fruitful projects and programs for La Trinidad’s tourism industry.

The Tourism Developmen­t Services of the town, definitely outmanned and depleted of funding, is still fortunate to have active partners for the activities’ realizatio­ns – the Sanggunian­g Kabataan and LT Youth (Aanak ni Shontog) led by SK Chair Apolinario Jr. and Ma’am Priscilla for the Hajay Kami Photo Contest and EcoKultura­mazing Race, special PESO activities led by Elengy, COOP activities led by national awardee Orly, MSME involvemen­t by Kurt and of course the LT MSMEs organizati­on, the Mayor’s Office warriors (special mention to boss George who was tireless for the last three days), Jude, Dennis, Myanne, Jerson, Brylin, Sir Francis, Sicily, Victoria, Joel, Jao, Celso, Aprille, Wesley, Abner, Senia, Atty.
