- Maria Elena Catajan Sun*Star Reporter

THE BAGUIO Convention Center rehabilitation discussion will now be open.

Councilor Maylen Yaranon proposed and has been given permission to hold a committee hearing on November 14, Wednesday at City Hall calling on all stakeholders and opening the issue to the public.

Plans made by the City Buildings and Architecture Office and the Technical Working Group (TWG) as well as the Department of Public Works and Highways will both presented and discussed.

Yaranon said a meeting with DPWH regional director Tiborcio Canlas has yielded positive response with the department chief vowing to study the BCC issue and come out with his own report.

The lady councilor said Canlas will be answering questions pertaining to the convention center rehabilitation which has put the department in a situation with the city council.

wise said treasure hunter Eliseo Cabusao will also be summoned in the same committee hearing for reports after his failed search allegedly further damaged the convention center as holes were found at the base of the building.

Yaranon said the hearing will be conducive for the public who wants to know issues related to the rehabilitation of the BCC.

Previously, City Mayor Mauricio Domogan has also asked to compare rehabilitation plans presented separately by the TWG and the DPWH.

Domogan said the DPWH must be able to justify the revisions made by their team as opposed to the approved plans made by the nine-member TWG created by the City Government, if plans of the TWG are proven to be indeed flawed and not feasible, the City Government will use the revised plans of DPWH as guide in the rehabilitation of the Baguio Convention Center.
