P1.4B budget for Benguet sought

P1.4 billion 2019 budget for the Benguet province has been presented to the Sanggunian­g Panlalawig­an.

Benguet Governor Crescencio Pacalso submitted to the SP a total of P1,468,793,000 budget for 2019 under the General Fund and two economic enterprise­s in the province namely, Benguet General Hospital Economic Enterprise and Benguet Technical School.

The proposed budget for the Benguet General Hospital is pegged at P241 million while the Benguet Techni-

School totals P5.56 million.

Pacalso said “We also assured august body that we will submit the final list of the infrastruc­ture budgets as well as we have re aligned some of the projects considerin­g the effects of the recent typhoon.”

Calamity funds according to Pacalso “We all know that 70 percent of which will be contained in budget this will be utilized for prevention. Considerin­g the damages brought about by the typhoon we will be utilizing part of the 70 percent for the restoratio­n of damage and infrastruc­ture in the province."

Benguet has an Internal Revenue Allotment of P1.078 billion equivalent 88 percent, local sources with 10 percent and a beginning balance of P18 million.

Members of the august body will move to call department heads for queries on the budget set for approval by the year end.
