Reply to the message of his holiness Pope Francis
WE, a millennial, feel so blessed being the focus of the message of our beloved Pope, His Holiness Francis for World Missionary Day 2018. This reaffirms how important, we, the young people are in the Mission of the Church which is transmitting the faith to all human beings of all times.
But, innate, this is a great responsibility which calls for total commitment, sacrifice and cooperation. His Holiness Pope Francis laid down to us the fundamental teachings which we have to openly and willingly accept, reflect and digest and live out as true Christians, of course with the help of God's grace.
In Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life, Colossians 1:16 states: "For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, everything got started in Him and finds its purpose in Him." We are not an accident. This attests to the truth of the first teaching: Life is a mission.
We enjoy our freedom. We are idealistic and full of vigor, enthusiasm and power but sometimes we hold back and have reservations. We are not yet ready and we are afraid to take the risk. But, through prayers and constant encounter with our fond in the Holy Mass, we gain enough knowledge, strength, wisdom and courage to live out our responsibility which is a tough challenge for us. In our own little way, we can contribute to the betterment of the world by bringing the gospel to all because of love.
The second teaching brings much shape and fulfillment. We proclaim Jesus who died and rose for us who appeals to our freedom and challenge us to seek, discover and to proclaim the message of truth and fulfillment. With Jesus' witnessing who promised to be with us with all the days of our life and who'll never abandon us. We get inspired by giving our best in everything to realize our dreams; ready to learn the logic of self-sacrifice with the grace of God.
By virtue of our baptism, we have received the mission to bring the gospel to everyone. How as a young person will do this? We are endowed with free will to do, follow or not what God wills to us. Properly reared by our God-fearing and loving parents. We go for "yes", we will try; we will take the risks. Thanks to modern technology where social networks are so pervasive and available that can bring the "good news" to all generations easier and faster. We get involved and join programs and trainings to enhance our God-given talents for we believe, we can't give what we don't have. These means will make us grow on all aspects and would better serve others.
We agree to the 100% wisdom of Pope Francis in his address to the young generations like us. “Never think that you have nothing to offer or that nobody needs you. Many people needs you." We firmly believe that each one of us in one way or the other has something. This faith manifested with good deeds will really make a difference in the lives of many people. Yes, Lord- we will take the challenge to be one of your missionary disciples- because we love you!
