Baguio judokas bag 2 golds, 4 silver, 4 bronze in 5th WMAF

THE BAGUIO women’s team are starting to comeback in the national scene after bagging two gold, four silver, four bronze medals and two fourth places in the recently concluded 5th Women’s Martial Arts Festival.

It is the first time for the Baguio women’s team to enter the event held October 23-24, 2018 at the Harrison Plaza, Manila.

The team is composed of 12 players and two coaches.

Leading the pact in grabbing the gold medals are Helen T. Aclopen (-52 kilograms, senior division), Fiona Evonn Merino (63 kilograms, juvenile division ).

Winning the silver medals are Jazlen Awitan (-52 kilograms, seniors division), Mariah Christine Pauly (-52 kilograms, juvenile division), Roshelle Hoggang(-48 kilograms, seniors division ), and April Joy Guidangen (63 kilograms, seniors division) while Kimberly Balageo (-57 kilograms, seniors division), Daphne Pineda (21 kilograms, kids division ), Zoey Itliong (48 kilograms, juvenile), Anamae Gumastine (+78 kilograms, seniors division) got bronze medals.

Aliyana Mae Lorenzo (-57 kilograms, cadets), Skyler Martin (-48 kilograms, juvenile) entered the semi-final round but settled for fourth place.

The team is coached by former national and South East Asian Games players Raquel Salinas and Sharon Dino-De Vera.
