- Jonathan Llanes Sun*Star Reporter

ASIA’S premiere military institution Philippine Military Academy (PMA) will continue to strengthen the trust bestowed upon each and every cadet. During the 120th founding anniversary of PMA at Fort Del Pilar, Superintendent Major General Ronnie Evangelista said for many other reasons, the academy will always strive to maintain the trust of the people because no relationship would start, flourish and last without the presence of trust.

“As an institution, we value the trust by thoroughly investing in the education and training of our cadets. Pivotal in this herculean task is offering a curriculum which is at par with national standards of higher education,” Evangelista said.

The yearly process of conducting the PMA entrance exams is a prerequisite for all aspiring cadets of the academy nationwide with the primary objective of having the best individuals through the stringent process of selection.

“Selecting the right people and continuously developing them, developing our facilities and equipments to be responsive to the needs of our cadets, and developing systems and processes that support a military learning environment that links education, learning and leadership,” the PMA Superintendent explained.

Evangelista added only by doing so can the academy continue to produce officers worthy of respect and trust of the Filipino people.

United States Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim who was the guest of honor and speaker recognized the relationship between the US and the PMA which he considers as a highlight of his almost two year tenure as Ambassador.

“On this 120 anniversary of the founding of the of this prestigious institution, we applaud the long rich history of PMA and more importantly the long line of men and women of the highest character who have graduated from PMA and made this great nation even greater,” Kim remarked.
