4 arrested for illegal drugs, firearms

FOUR individual­s were arrested by operatives of the Police Regional Office - Cordillera for violating the anti-illegal drugs and anti-illegal firearms laws over the week.

In a buy-bust operation, two drug traders were separately arrested after they sold sachets of illegal drugs to police agents who posted as buyers on November 5.

Joint operatives of the Regional Intelligen­ce Division (RID) and Regional Intelligen­ce Unit 14 (RIU14), La Trinidad Drug Enforcemen­t Unit and PDEA-CAR arrested Jefferson Curameng Requizo, 22, native of Solano, Nueva Viscaya and a resident of Balili, La Tridinidad, Benguet, at Trading Post, Pico, La Trinidad Monday evening.

Confiscate­d from the suspect were three heat sealed transparen­t plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, buy bust money, and one cellular phone.

In Itogon, Benguet, Joint operatives of Itogon and Benguet police also arrested Rolly Aspuria Selga, 28, miner, at Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet in the night of the same day subsequent­ly confiscati­ng from him two heat sealed sachets containing suspected shabu and a mobile phone.

Through a tipped informatio­n, two suspects were caught for Illegal possession of firearms identified as

Larry Mangorangc­a Lumano, 43, a resident of Central Fairview, Baguio City was arrested at Sitio Palali, Poblacion, Sablan, Benguet in the afternoon of November 1.

Before his arrest, a concerned citizen saw the suspect with a firearm tucked in his back partly covered by his jacket prompting them to report to the police.

As a result, Sablan

police seized the unlicensed caliber 9mm PARA pistol, one magazine and three live ammunition­s from his possession.

Another suspect identified as Andres Vallejo Paloga, 46, security guard, and a resident of Adiwang Road, Green Valley, Baguio City was arrested inside a bar, along Block 4, Hilltop, Baguio City in the afternoon of November 2 after operatives from Police Station 7 of the Baguio City Police Office recovered from his possession one cal. 22 paltik with four ammunition­s.
