A LATRINIDAD official is seeking higher incentives for athletes in the municipality.

Councilor Guiller Galwan recently filed a proposal revising the sports incentive ordinance of the municipality stating the incentives seeks to serve as motivation and for athletes to excel in their own sport.

The proposed measure added athletes participating in any sports competition should TRAINING for a particular sport involves weeks, months, or years of physical conditioning and “if you can mentally convince yourself that you can tackle a task, whether it’s a game or cleaning up a room, you can accomplish it physically”.

Basically, just as important as the physical is the mental aspect of training.

Preparing for a competition is the best illustrations where one must condition his/her mind to help the individual overcome the challenges of training as well as their aimed conquest of the competitions ahead.

Conditioning the mind is training the mind to be focused on the goal set by the individual, like any other muscle in the body the more you train the mind the sharper it gets. However, how does an athlete prepare himself for mind not have monetary subsidy or cash prices and must be sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee, Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Sports Commission, National Sports Associations, barangays, Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Department of Education.

Preparing the mind for competitions according to sports psychologists is a combination of disciplines, from “zen” to techniques of mental conditioning to include the academic knowhow and experience as an athlete.

Mind conditioning includes introspection and intuition as well as how the individual understands the sport. They should be motivated; to enable the athlete to discover within himself his desire and passion to be able to create in him his emotional energies for his sport which will help them raise their frustration tolerance as well as their patience as they go along facing the challenges that will develop their self-confidence. Having the focus is also essential; it is Sports Psychology claim the incentive within 60 days from receipt of medals and are asked submit requirements to the office of the municipal sports coordinator for the approval of the cash incentives.

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Golden State Warriors don’t expect Draymond Green’s latest dustup with Kevin Durant to become a long-term issue for the two-time defending NBA champions.

Nor do they expect the emotional Green to change after his onegame suspension by the team Tuesday.

Green was suspended one game without pay for conduct detrimental to the team following an altercation a night earlier with Durant, though general manager Bob Myers declined to offer specifics on the AllStar forward’s behavior that was considered going too far. Myers and Steve Kerr collaborated on the decision.

“We just felt like this rose to the level of acting the way we did,” Myers said, noting of Green: “He was professional. He loves to play basketball, which is all you can ask of him.”
