NBTC’s Baguio leg fires off Nov. 25

AT LEAST 10 high school teams are to see action for the Baguio City leg of the reformatte­d SM-National Basketball Training Center League which fires off on November 25.

Pooled in Group A is powerhouse University of Baguio (UB) Red Robins which ranked 21st in last year's national championsh­ip together with Berkeley School, Saint Louis Center School (SLCS), Saint Louis University Laboratory High School – B (SLU - LHS B), and University of the Cordillera­s Prep High School – B (UC-B).

Bunched in group B are UC-A, SLU-LHS- A, Baguio City National High School, UB Prep High School (UBPHS), and UB Science High School (UBSHS).

For this year’s competitio­n, the format was patterned after the US NCAA March Madness where the finals will be held also the same month dubbed Madness in MOA because of the growing tournament.

The winners in the first round will move on to the next round

until a Division 1 champion is determined. The losers of the first round of play will move to Division 2 where there will also be knockout matches with the last team standing being the champion.

UC-B and Berkeley opens their campaign on November 25 against each other at 9:00 in the morning followed by the match – up between SLCS and SLU – LHS B while SLU – LHS A squares off against UBSHS at 1:00 p.m. with City High squaring off against UBPHS are 2:30 p.m.

Venue for the November 25 game will be announced later by organizers.
