Emphasis on ecotrails underscored in ‘Entacool’
BAGUIO City Mayor Mauricio Domogan aired his own views on the Entacool Festival which he hopes becomes a point of improvement for organizers next year.
Domogan aired his own suggestions harping on the way the launch of the forest bathing at Camp John Hay was conducted.
He claimed in the case of the forest bathing, the historical significance of the ecotrails should be given emphasis so that residents and visitors will understand the historical value of the trails and the whole Camp John Hay reservation aside from empowering them to embrace the health and wellness event that will run through the whole year and not simply during the creative arts festival of the city.
Domogan said the area was bombed by Japanese forces and triggered the start of World War II and should be put on record for the public to know.
The mayor likewise said although he welcomes the input of other cultures and traditions, he emphasized
culture of the highlands should not be set aside in times of festivities.
Domogan said performance of Cordilleran performances must be done at the foremost for guests to see the culture of the region.
The mayor said all observations including his will have to be disccused during a meeting of the EntaCool team as he rallied other sectors that have suggestions and recommendations on how to improve the creative arts festival to bring their observations to the appropriate committee handling the said events as a basis to improve the future conduct of similar events for the benefit of the people of the city and nearby areas.
Previously, EntaCool exhibit curator, Willy Magtibay aired his own observations which aimed to improve the conduct of the event.
