Apayao SK chair, bystander hurt in stabbing

A SANGUNIANG Kabataan Chairman and another individual in Apayao Province are now recovering in a hospital after being stabbed by still unidentifi­ed suspect Saturday evening.

The victims were identified as MC Kevin Afaga Lacar, 23, single, SK chairman; and Archer James Castillo, 26, single, student and both residents of Barangay San Antonio, Pudtol in Apayao.

Initial investigat­ion disclosed at around 9:00 p.m. of November 17, the victims together with Edmar Pagdilao and Erick Bunnao attended a wedding in their barangay.

According to police, Lacar was leaning on an owner type jeep parked along the road when the suspect approached him where a heated argument ensued.

The suspect then brought out a knife and stabbed Lacar and Castillo who was standing along the road.

Barangay tanods brought the victims to Amma Jadsac District Hospital located at Poblacion, Pudtol while the suspect fled to a still unknown direction.

Lacar suffered a stab wound on his left abdomen while Castillo also suffered a stab wound on his left chest.

Both victims were transferre­d to Far North General Hospital & Training Center in Luna, Apayao.

Personnel from the Pudtol Municipal Police Station are now conducting a follow– up investigat­ion for the possible identifica­tion of the suspect.
