Mining exhibit to highlight PMSEA week
THE 65th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) gather thousands of stakeholders to discuss the current trends and problems besetting the mining industry.
As part of the four day conference, a Minerals Industry Symposium will be held at CAP-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center, Baguio City on November 20-24, 2018.
The event is organized by the Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association, the country’s forerunner in the promotion of occupational safety and health, sound environmental management and social responsibility in the minerals industry, in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural ResourcesMines and Geosciences Bureau, the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines, the Philippine Society of Mining Engineers (PSEM), mining companies, quarries, cement plants, suppliers, service contractors and other professional organizations.
The theme for the 65th ANMSEC is “Industry and Regulator Together in Promoting and Advocating Responsible Mining.”
Annually, various sectors in the mining industry, such as mining contractors, mining suppliers, academe, students, professional organizations, community development officers, government officials and employees attend the celebration of ANMSEC in Baguio City.
Sixteen papers will be discussed during the symposium with PMSEA president Walter brown serving as guest speaker.
Prior to the symposium, a mining exhibit will be held at Camp John Hay Convention Center on November 21 participated by mining companies and suppliers. This will feature the good practices of the mining companies, mining equipment and the latest mining technologies as well as the local produce from the mining communities’ livelihood projects and programs.
The 4th PMSEA Students Congress and the 6th Community Relations Officers (COMREL) Conference are also set on the same day.
A sports fest will also be held simultaneously at the Baguio Tennis Club, Baguio Country Club, and Puyat Sports. Winners will be awarded during the Mining Night at the Manor Hotel Garden.
Earlier, Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan issued Administrative Order No. 195, series of 2018 suspending the implementation of the Baguio Number Coding Scheme for private motor vehicles for the participants of the 65th Mine Safety and Environment Week.
