Robredo turns over 2-classroom building in Ifugao town
KIANGAN, Ifugao -- A two classroom building with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment was turned-over by Vice President Leonora Robredo to the Department of Education - Duit Elementary School last week.
The school building was made possible under the Angat Buhay Program of Vice President Robredo with financial assistance from the LBC Foundation, PhilAm Life – Philippines Foundation and the Rodl Philippines, Inc. to provide better and more comfortable classrooms to the pupils and teachers.
The new building which started construction in 2017 will serve as additional learning rooms for the pupils who were displaced when their old school was relocated due to geographical hazard as found out by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in 2015.
The turn-over and inauguration ceremony was witnessed by stakeholders led by Mayor Joselito Guyguyon, Ifugao Schools Division Superintendent Gloria Buya-o, local officials, representatives of partner non-government organizations and the community.
Joining them were LBC Foundation representatives Richard Gomez and Victor Belen, PhilAm Life representative Max Ventura and Mariano Norbert Majer of Rodl Philippines, Inc.
Robredo also visited the Kiangan Heritage Center located at the Kiangan Central School in Barangay Poblacion and interacted with the native weavers.
This was the fourth time that Robredo visited the town bringing along with her projects for the people.
