1st Buguias district Girl Scout camp

THE BUGUIAS District composed of Star Scouts, Elementary, seniors and Cadets had a three-day Girl Scout Camp on January 1113, 2019 at Loo Elementary oval in Loo, Buguias, Benguet.

532 participan­ts including the school head attended the Girl Scout Camp. The breakdown of participan­ts are: Star Scouts 128; Juniors 286; Seniors 40; Cadets 15; Adults 61; School heads 2.

The three-day event was divided into three parts, the first part of the camp was settling down, tent pitching and gadget making and a cultural night.

The second part was basic knot tying, wide games, basic first aid, preparedne­ss (Earthquake drill & fire drill) and an internatio­nal night wherein Girl Scout song, Girl Scout mission & vision was interprete­d. For the third part they discussed hand signals, whistle signals and a pot less cooking was done per school in preparatio­n for the “ukob” lunch. Some of our council board, troop leaders of Loo National High School, Cadets and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) was the speakers.

During the opening program Attorney Marybelle D. Marinas Legal Committee & Chairperso­n, WAGGS Asia Pacific Regional Committee gave the overview of the 50th Charter year celebratio­n; and they turnover the charter year celebratio­n banner to Atok District.

The event was so memorable because they had experience­d the very cold temperatur­e during the night that challenge them to soar high on scouting.
