LCMC supports CES projects
THE Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company (LCMC) through the Project Engineering Department represented by Arnel Briones and Albert Masegman handed the materials for waste segregation to the staff of Colalo Elementary School last Sept. 4.
The company gave immediate response to the request specially if for school improvement purposes particularly to the clean and clean program.
Briones and Masegman happily delivered one wooden electrical spool and 36 pieces garbage carboy. These were labelled properly and readily for use. Proper waste segregation and garbage disposal is very much needed in a community so the said company showed their willingness to extend their help.
LCMC gave 20 steel drums at first which were made into flat sheets that served as fence on a portion of the school where animals usually enter and destroy the plants in the gulayan. Gardens in the Gulayan sa paaralan were then protected because of the sturdy fence that was built through the donated steel drums. Thus, the green leafy vegetables planted were maintained.
In the school improvement plan (SIP), it is included that a school must be a childfriendly school. One contributory of being such is the provision of learning parks. This was also supported by the LCMC by giving two wide wooden electrical spools placed at Science and Math parks which served as study and eating area for pupils. Included in the park were four steel drum segregation bins from the company where pupils put their garbage when going to the area.
The faculty and staff of the school were thankful for the blessings the company are giving.
