Smile, and the world will smile with you

- Clara Teofilo

LAUGHTER is a great thing—that’s why we’ve all heard the saying, “Laughter is the best medicine”. There is a strong evidence that laughter can actually improve health and help fight diseases. Our brains can make us healthier and happier through laughter.

Laughing is found to lower blood pressure, reduce stress hormones, increase muscle flexion, and boast immune function by raising levels of infection-fighting T-cells, disease-fighting proteins. Laughter also triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, and produces a general sense of well-being.

The emotions and moods we experience directly affect our immune system. A sense of humor allows us to perceive and appreciate the incongruities of life and provides moments of joy and delight. These positive emotions can create neurochemical changes that will buffer the immunosuppressive effects of disease and stress.

Negative thoughts manifest into chemical reactions that can impact the body by bringing more stress into the system and decreasing its immunity. In contrast, positive thoughts and emotions trigger neurochemical changes that reduce the immunosuppressive effects of stress.

Live, Laugh and Love, these elements can surely help us alleviate and prevent any kind of disease. Equip yourself with the best armor in fighting diseases. Frowning will just make you grow older; smile and the world will smile back to you. Do not forget that your smile is the best accessory that you could ever wear than your expensive jewels.
