Tuba held Sofad
TUBA Municipality in Benguet held the Scout Officials for a Day (Sofad) on Oct. 15, 2019 with the theme “Sulong Kabataan Tungo Sa Pagbabago Ng Bayan.” The qualified 33 boy and girl scouts representing the different Elementary Schools in the municipality occupied their positions for a day at the municipal local government which includes the positions as department heads, municipal councils, and mayors’ office.
Xyla Mar Macario of Taloy Sur Elementary School took over the incumbent Mayor Clarita Sal-ongan as municipal mayor for a day in the Municipality.
Arwen Jilliene Ognayon as the Sofad vice mayor lead the Sangguniang Bayan with the Sofad councilors Andrei Limpiada, Rencyl Kaith Quinio, Jayrod Beniasan, Neri Jhay Dis-ag, Alexander Balutoc, Gamar Mondiguing, Rachelle Ann Betet, Kyle Haundred Collado, Sofad municipal councilor and Sangguniang Kabataan president Shaira Segundo, Sofad municipal councilor and ABC president Renz Bassit, Sofad municipal councilor and Indigenous Peoples’ representative Nicole Grace Awisan, and Sofad municipal secretary Marieta Bilalay.
In the department head positions, John Dee Bayeng took over the municipal accountant, Kaycee Walang as the municipal budget officer, Krisha Carmel Pagnas as the municipal treasurer, Dan Seal Adones as the municipal jail warden, Marra Jade Ebasco as the municipal public attorney, Marc Andrei De Guzman as municipal local government operations officer, Herman Calse as the election officer, Shann Aerol Domingo as the Bureau of Internal Revenue collection officer, Yesha Gail Wakat as the municipal judge, MayAnn Bay-an as the municipal health officer, Tracy May Calimlim as the municipal planning and development coordinator, Kate Ashley Sudio as the municipal social welfare and development officer, Rose Angel Emelio as the municipal engineer, Felisa Mae Banaña as the municipal assessor, Clyde Dacanay as the municipal civil registrar, John Rey Osias as the municipal agriculture officer, Rhanie Gumihid as the municipal fire marshal, Jay Bart Omaweng as the chief of police, and Dharyll Lino as the municipal environment and natural resources officer.
The scout officials passed their five resolutions; one resolution they passed is requesting all schools within the municipality of Tuba to advise all outsiders especially none residence of Tuba who are promoting or selling any products to school to secure municipal permit or clearance.
The Sofad councilors discussed during their session that it has been observed that there are numerous individuals offering their products and services in school premises any time. These could be one way to secure schools properties from any outsiders who has another motive in entering school premises as it was observed that some schools in the municipality were ransacked.
In order to ensure compliance to the revenue code and other regulatory ordinances, there is a need to notify all persons to secure business permit before promoting or selling their products in the municipality.
The Sofad councilors resolved finally to forward their resolutions to the different schools in the municipality of Tuba for information and favorable action. Let copies of the same be forwarded to the office of the municipal Mayor Clarita Salongan for information and support.
