- Alexander Dalog Christaan

IN every workplace, in any job or occupation, stress will never be absent from the scheme especially if there are tasks that are overwhelming and seems to go beyond the capacity of the person. Teachers are among the vulnerable group to stress that have tendencies to be passed to the students.

And the danger of stress if not properly or immediately addressed or managed can lead to worse, depression. And there are lots of reports of ending own life because of extreme depression.

Unless something will be done, teachers who are stressed from work and even much more stressed when at home are in danger of breakdowns.

There are five scientifically proven for its effectiveness in stress management for teachers. All the teachers have only to open their minds and accept the fact that any human being can be stressed no matter he or she view themselves as strong as they imagine.

Stressed teachers should practice mindfulness.

According to Amanda Bailey of Bright Futures Educational Trust of the United Kingdom, such measure will suppress occupational stress and promote wellbeing. She explained that it targets the brain patterns behind such feelings as irritability, stress and anxiety and works to introduce the individual to a friendlier viewpoint of daily workplace events.

Accepting the fact that no man is an island is if gre help mentally and emotionally. Stressed teachers should realize that having consultations and exchanging experiences and insights will help a lot in toning down the stress. When teachers are in the faculty office waiting for their respective subjects, it is great when they will learn to open up with each other and talk things that are affecting them.

One of the best measures is knowing how to determine the things they can focus and do it easily than the others while taking time in seeking for best solutions to the other stress contributor. Teachers can do better if they will learn to list things and determine thethings they are responsible and the other list of things they are not primarily sunk into doing it. This will relieve them from overthinking doing things as if they are beating deadlines.

Next is planning things according to capacity and reality, or setting things and goals that are realistic. One of the greatest contributor to stress and deporessin is disappointment from failures. It is not bad though to target high achievements but plan it that can be achievable based on actual capability and situation.

Last is regular exercise. Researchers at Princeton University, as written in the New York Times, say that a good workout regimen can greatly reduce stress and anxiety. Having a sound body surely will have a sound mind. Exercise is more effective with also a healthy lifestyle.
