Ifugao adapting to new normal

LAGAWE, Ifugao -This capital town is slowly adapting to the new normal with the current modified general community quarantine.

Public plazas and parks in Lagawe town are now open for any kind of non-contact outdoor sports and either form of exercises like walking, jogging, running, biking, tennis and badminton, skateboard­ing and zumba/ taebo. But the public must adhere to health standards like wearing of face masks, physical distancing and hand washing,

Executive Order No. E-26 of Mayor Martin Habawel, Jr also provides that sharing of sports equipment or gears is prohibited. Likewise, the 6:00PM to 5:00AM municipal curfew shall be strictly followed.

The LGU is also conducting a social experiment­ation by allowing Sunday as “Free-For All Day” provided the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines are strictly followed.

LGU personnel and barangay officials will implement the IATF guidelines and accost violators. The LGU will be observing to gather behavioral data that maybe necessary for planning purposes.

Meanwhile, Lamut Mayor Mariano Buyagawan Jr. has allowed the conduct of religious gatherings in his municipali­ty provided the mandatory social distancing of two meters and wearing of facemask are strictly followed.

In the event of failure to impose the said guidelines inside or outside their churches, the assembly maybe dispersed by authoritie­s without fear of violating the right to religious assembly.
