ONE: No Surrender to feature world title bouts

- ONE release

ONE CHAMPIONSHIP is set to resume its 2020 flagship event schedule in a major way.

Just two days after ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced that the world’s largest martial arts organization will return with ONE: No Surrender in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 31, he revealed three of the card’s bouts on his official Facebook page.

Headlining the event is ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon defending his belt against longtime foe and Thai compatriot Petchdam Petchyindee Academy in a trilogy bout.

The pair of star athletes had a heated Muay Thai rivalry at the world-famous Rajadamnern Stadium in

Bangkok.

Petchdam – who is currently the #5ranked contender in the division – originally defeated Rodtang via unanimous decision in May 2017. However

Jitmuangnon earned some redemption when he beat his countryman in a rematch via unanimous decision in February 2018.

Since then, Petch

dam and Rodtang have joined the promotion’s all-striking branch, ONE Super Series, where each man has tasted World Title gold.

Petchdam switched sports and claimed the inaugural ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship in May 2019 before dropping the strap in his next bout.

Meanwhile, Rodtang defeated Jonathan Haggerty to win the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title in August 2019 and has held the belt ever since.

At ONE: No Surrender, Petchdam and Rodtang will meet for the third time to determine who deserves to hold the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship.

Petchdam will not be the only Petchyindee Academy representative on the bill. His teammate and best friend will return to action, too.

This past February, Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy routed Pongsiri PK. Saenchaimuay thai gym via unanimous decision to capture the inaugural ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship.

However, in order to keep his belt, he will need to beat compatriot Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex in the co-main event of ONE: No Surrender.

Yodsanklai – the #5ranked contender in the division – is a legend of the sport. He’s a multiple-time Muay Thai World Champion who has defeated some of the best strikers on the planet, including John Wayne Parr, Andy Souwer, Enriko Kehl, and even reigning two-sport ONE World Champion SamA Gaiyanghadao.

This will be a big moment in each man’s career. For Petchmorakot, he’ll have the opportunity to solidify his legacy by toppling a true icon. As for Yodsanklai, he’ll have a chance to win a ONE World Title, the richest prize in the sport.

Additionally, ONE: No Surrender will feature a super-bout between two of the world’s top featherweight kickboxing warriors who are making their promotional debuts.

Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong is scheduled to meet his old foe and countryman, Superbon, in a three-round clash.

The first time these warriors met was back in January 2016. In the second round of that tilt, Sitthichai lived up to his moniker and knocked out the Banchamek Gym representative with a right hook.

However, Superbon avenged that loss eight months later, defeating “The Killer Kid” via unanimous decision.

It has been nearly four years since the Thai-born athletes went toe-to-toe in a combat sports setting. Now, fans will get to see the trilogy bout unfold, which will also determine who moves up ONE Championship’s Athlete Rankings.
