Benguet Covid-19 cases down to 5

ONLY five active cases of Covid-19 are being monitored in Benguet

since shifting to general community quarantine by the National Inter Agency Task Force on Covid-19.

The latest is a 34 – year – old male constructi­on worker from Saudi Arabia and a resident from Kilometer 21 in Tublay.

Mayor Armando Lauro on Thursday issued Executive Order No. 34 placing Sitio Km. 20 and Km. 21 of Barangay Ambassador, Tublay under temporary lockdown for contact tracing.

The returning Overseas Filipino Worker arrived in the country with complete documents and a negative Covid test.

However upon arrival at the quarantine facility in Benguet, he underwent a re-swabbing and tested positive.

He is the 39th Covid-19 confirmed patient in the province and has been asymptomat­ic of the virus.

The province earlier sent home two frontliner­s from Kapangan and Buguias after negative test results for Covid-19 on July 1.

On Monday, June 29, personnel and staff of the Benguet General Hospital(BeGH) led by Hospital Chief Dr. Meliarazon Dulay with Governor Melchor Diclas held a send-off ceremony for the six new recoveries from the hospital facility.

Diclas said all the patients are frontline workers –municipal government employee from Sablan and from La Trinidad, a barangay tanod from Itogon, and two police officers from La Trinidad and one from Buguias.

They were ferried by their respective LGUs to their local quarantine facilities where they will be isolated for another 14 days before going back to their communitie­s and to their respective duties.
