CdO teams off to Cebu for PYD Reg’l cagefest

PINOY Youth Dreamers (PYD) Cagayan de Oro chapter is sending three youth basketball teams to the PYD Regional Basketball Challenge on May 23-29 at the old Sacred Heart School for Boys gym along General Maximum Avenue, Cebu city.

According to PYD CdO coordinator James Racines he is sending one team each in the 13 Under (born 2004 under), 16 Under (born 2001 under) and 18 Under (born 2000 and Under) categories.

The teams with their parents and coaches will sail to Cebu on Monday evening and Racines with his CdO coaches expected to attend the coaches and managers meeting on Tuesday evening at the Dunkin Donuts resto at the Ayala Mall.

PYD founder and tournament manager Beaujing Acot added that eight teams are entered in the 13 Under category, also eight in the 16 Under, six in the 18 Under.

Assisting Acot in this tournament are deputy tournament director are coach Rommel Rasmo and PYD commissioner for Visayas and Mindanao coach Jerry Abuyanor.

Teams joining in the 13 Under are from PYD ManilaBlue, PYD Manila-Red, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, PYD Cagayan de Oro, RDAK PYD Cebu, Lipa Batangas, RP Elite 13, and St. John-Bacolod.

In the 16 Under division, teams are Zamboanga del Norte, PYD Manila-Red, PYD Manila-Blue, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, BMEG-Bacolod, PYD Cagayan de Oro, Don Bosco Dumaguete, and Leyte National University while in the 18 Under category teams joining are Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu 1, Sacrea Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu 2, PYD Manila, Zamboanga de Norte, Don Boco Dumaguete, and Sacred Heart School Tacloban.
