Ogie Diaz mum on Liza Soberano’s ‘Darna’ stint
TALENT manager Ogie Diaz has remained tightlipped on reports that his talent, Liza Soberano, has already been chosen to play the role of iconic Pinay super heroine "Darna".
In Friday's episode of dzMM radio program "Sakto," the actor/comedian shared that a lot of people are actually asking him about the news. But Diaz said he will let Star Cinema do the talking.
"Sa totoo lang, ang daming nagtatanong sa akin niyan. Isa lang ang sinasabi ko, hintayin nating magannounce ang Star Cinema. Ayaw ko pong umepal. Ayaw ko sa akin manggaling kung ano ang desisyon nila, kung si Liza ba o ibang aktres ang gaganap na Darna," he said.
Diaz added that Star Cinema will make an announcement and that one thing is certain, his ward is keen to play the role of Darna.
"Gustong-gusto ni Liza maging Darna. Siyempre sino ba naman ang ayaw maging Darna, kahit nga Captain Barbell siguro maeexcite si Liza," he said.
Soberano is co-managed by Diaz and Star Magic, the talent arm of ABS-CBN. She's also an exclusive artist of the station.
To recall, veteran entertainment editor Ricky Lo wrote on his column for the Philippine Star on Tuesday that the young star was picked for the role.
He said Soberano was the "final" and "perfect choice" to play Darna and that the actress is already undergoing intense training for the project.
“Darna” is expected to grace the big screen in 2018.
Meanwhile, Soberano is still busy taping the life story of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach for the upcoming special episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya".
Soberano will work opposite Lee O'Brien and Zsa Zsa Padilla.
