4ID 132 ar­rests since DU30's Mar­tial Law

AT least 132 law-break­ing in­di­vid­u­als in the lo­cal­ity were ar­rested un­der the ju­ris­dic­tion of the army’s 4th In­fantry Di­vi­sion (4ID) since the dec­la­ra­tion of Mar­tial Law in Min­danao.

Of the said num­ber, 119 of them were put be­hind bars due to al­leged crim­i­nal acts, even as 13 were cleared from charges based on the data re­leased by the 4ID Pub­lic Af­fairs Of­fice in Camp Evan­ge­lista, brgy. Patag, this city.

The mil­i­tary also re­ported that a to­tal of 27 firearms, 8,627 as­sorted bul­lets, and 19 im­pro­vised ex­plo­sives were seized.

The Diamond troop­ers also con­fis­cated over 300 grams of sus­pected metham­phetamine hy­drochlo­ride or ‘shabu’ worth about P2 mil­lion in var­i­ous op­er­a­tions co­or­di­nated by other law en­force­ment agen­cies such the po­lice and the anti-nar­cotics agency.

Since Pres­i­dent Ro­drigo Duterte de­clared mil­i­tary rule in the is­land last May 23, a to­tal of 375 check­points and 232 pa­trols were con­ducted by the dif­fer­ent units and bat­tal­ions.

In more than three months since Min­danao had been placed un­der mil­i­tary rule fol­low­ing the Marawi City siege, the Camp Evan­ge­lista Station Hos­pi­tal (CESH) ac­com­mo­dated 1,047 bat­tle ca­su­al­ties and catered 374 other med­i­cal cases.

As of Wed­nes­day, Aug. 30, the cur­rent num­ber of CESH pa­tients is 62 while 68 med­i­cal cases were be­ing at­tended.

The 4ID also re­ported that it re­ceived nearly P9 mil­lion worth of ‘inkind’ do­na­tions such as med­i­cal kits, hos­pi­tal equip­ment, food, wa­ter and in­di­vid­ual care pack­ages in­tended for bat­tle ca­su­al­ties and sol­diers fight­ing the Maute ter­ror group in Marawi City.
