Marian Rivera to focus on new soap before contemplating 2nd baby

-

MARIAN Rivera is keen to finish her television obligations before planning another baby. This was disclosed by the Kapuso Primetime Queen herself in an interview during the press launch of her newest evening series "Super Ma'am." According to Rivera, it will be unfair for her mother station GMA-7 if she gets pregnant while starring in the daily soap. Nahihiya din naman ako sa GMA after 'The Rich Man's Daughter' eh buntis ako noon. Ngayon, hindi pwede kasi kailangan ibalik ko sa GMA yung tiwala na binigay nila sa akin," she said. The actress added that it will be extra hard for her if she gets pregnant because her role in the series entails her to do several fight scenes.

Meanwhile, Rivera is happy to be back on TV after dedicating most of her time in the past two years looking after her daughter, Zia. The actress said she accepted the role of Minerva Heneral, a soft-hearted and dedicated school teacher, and her character's alter-ego, Super Ma'am, as it is different from her past projects. Wholesome kasi siya and pangarap ko maging teacher, at the same time, andoon yung fight scenes na hinahanap ko." Rivera said she's grateful to her network for also allowing her to work with caliber actors in the industry. She said there's always pressure when she launches a new soap, but she eventually get the hang of things especially when surrounded with supportive cast. "Super Ma'am" premieres on Monday, September 18, after "24 Oras" on GMA-7. (SunStar Philippines)
