Another hazing suspect Ralph Trangia returns to Manila

RALPH Trangia, one of the primary suspects in the killing of hazing victim Horacio Castillo III has arrived in the country on Tuesday.

Trangia along with his mother Rosemarie arrived at the NAIA terminal 1 in Pasay City from Taipei around 11:40 a.m. via Eva Air flight BR 271.

Operatives from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Manila Police District (MPD) awaited for the arrival of Trangia for his security.

“Upon Trangia’s arrival at the airport, it’s the BI (Bureau of Immigration) that has primary jurisdiction on him in lieu with the lookout bulletin order issued by DOJ (Department of Justice). But the MPD will ask him if he’s willing to undergo investigation. If he expressed willingness, he will be brought at the MPD, if not, he will be released,” said MPD Director Joel Coronel.

However, MPD chief of the homicide division Senior Inspector Rommel Anicete, one of the officials who welcomed Trangia in the airport said he will be heading to their home but vowed to contact the authorities regarding Castillo’s case.

He said Trangia is still free as arrest warrant is yet to be issued against him.

Trangia was among the 18 individuals facing murder, violations of Republic Act 8049 or the Anti-Hazing Law, perjury, obstruction of justice and robbery in relation to the killing of Castillo who died of cardiac arrest secondary to the injuries he obtained allegedly after undergoing hazing.

His mother, Rosemarie, is also facing obstruction of justice charges after she flew her son to the US two days after Castillo was killed.

Trangia’s red Strada pick-up was reportedly the vehicle used to bring Castillo’s body to the Chinese General Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
