CAGAYAN DE ORO’S MR. LUIS LIM 1R RQH VKRRW WKH EDOO OLNH KLP

LOCAL businessma­n Luis Lim is arguably Cagayan de Oro basketball’s Mr. Showtime.

Usually during halftime breaks when everyone practicall­y get bored waiting for the game to resume comes the 68-year-old Lim to break the ice.

The ageless Lim, owner of C7 Grocers in downtown Divisoria, does wonder in what he loves the most: entertains the crowd by shooting from afar with eyes closed and without taking a jump at the rear corner of the three-point line.

And, Lim has been doing these for more than 15 years at his 50s.

Sometimes, Lim shared he’s been mistakenly labelled as a legend in local basketball in the like of former RP Olympian cager Joselino `Nonong’ Roa because the way he shoots in his favorite spot.

The low profile businessma­n just happens to be a basketball craze and simply loves to shoot with the crowd looking at him.

Lim is known for his family-run Cagayan SevenSeven Store then situated in downtown Divisoria during the early 40s until late 70s.

Virtually nobody dares to bar Lim from stepping into the courts, especially at the Xavier University gym where he used to pull most of his tricks.

And why should they? He is drawing and pleasing the crowds with his `miracle shots’.

If ever somebody would dare to put up a challenge, Lim would likely ask him to undergo a month-long practice before facing him.
