132 augmentation forces commended

- By Alwen Saliring

THE 132 police augmentation from Region 3 and Region 4A who have helped in the conduct of security checkpoints in the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan during the Marawi City crisis have returned to their respective headquarters on Friday, October 27.

During the send-off ceremony, the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) gave them a letter of commendation and hosted a ‘boodle fight’ lunch for their laudable contribution.

Superintendent Lemuel Gonda, PRO-10 spokesperson, said the order came from the PNP national headquarters in Camp Crame, following the liberation of the besieged city from the hands of the ISIS-Maute terrorists.

“Gikan sa Crame ang order nga ipabalik na sila since humana man ang giyera sa Marawi exactly five months,”Gonda said.

PRO-10 regional director Chief Superindent Timoteo Pacleb said the absence of the PRO-3 and PRO-4A contingents will be a quite loss considering their contributions in preventing the spread of violence caused by the Marawi war.

Pacleb, however, lauded and thanked each one of them for their dedication in ensuring the peace and order in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan.

The troops from Luzon arrived late June, this year. 61 (PRO-3) policemen were assigned in Cagayan de Oro while the 71 from PRO-4A were deployed in Iligan.

Gonda said since the police force of the Regional Public Safety Battalion-Northern Mindanao (RPSB) were also back from Marawi, they would assume the assignment and task left by the Luzon cops.

“Anyway balik naman pud ang RPSB-10 nga 107 ka police, magamit napud nato sa region,” Gonda said.

“Nagpasalamat ta sa atong PNP chief nga gi-grant gyud atong request for augmentation ug napadala ni sila kay dako kaayo og tabang sa malampuson nga mga checkpoints,” Gonda added.

Meanwhile, Gonda said Camp Alagar will prioritize the Cagayan de Oro City Police Offce (Cocpo) in providing augmentation for the observance of the All Saints and All Souls Day due to the assumed terror and bombing threats.

“Naa tay augmentation ihatag para sa kalag-kalag. Priority nato ang CDO tungod atong threat,” Gonda said.
