Cepalco announces 11-hour scheduled blackout on Sunday

THE Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company Inc. (Cepalco) is set to implement an 11-hour power outage on Sunday, November 19.

In its advisory, the power distributo­r will facilitate the request of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for a relocation of post along Calamansi Drive in barangay Patag and reconnecti­on of 69KV loop in Kauswagan highway.

The 11 hours power interrupti­on will start at 7:00 a.m. up to 6:00 p.m. and will affect Calamansi Drive, Patag from crossing Villarin St. up to before Mendoza compound.

Cepalco will also cut power for two hours from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. affecting Limketkai Center and Gaisano City Mall along CM Recto Avenue.

Another two hours power interrupti­on from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and one hour and 30 minutes from 4:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. will also be experience­d due to power switching.

Affected areas include greater part of Barangay Patag from Buenavista village and Mendoza compound towards 6th Division up to Citi Hardware, Camp Evangelist­a, Apovel Subdivisio­n, Terry Hills Subdivisio­n, Soldiers Hill Subdivisio­n and Anhawon up to Villa Arcadia village; and portion of Waling-waling street from corner Agoho Drive to portion of Villarin Street from DOTC-10 office up to National Irrigation Authority (NIA).

However, Cepalco said power will be restored immediatel­y when line and switching works are completed even earlier than scheduled.
