MOA for housing project in Balubal is OKD
In line with the intention to address the intention to address the housing needs of residents, the City Council during its regular session on Monday presided by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the implementation of the housing project in Barangay Balubal.
The project, which amounts to 55million, will be funded by the DSWD under certain terms and conditions.
The MOA provides that the city shall provide a sustainable, adequate, secure, and safe resettlement site and provide counterpart funds for labor and supervision costs. The city shall also assign a Project Management Team with the DSWD, identify the families eleigible to be provided with the permanent shelter unit.
The city government shall, likewise, deploy skilled workers who are adept with shelter structure technology and provide a close out report to the DSWD when the construction of shelters is completed, among others.
The responsibility of the DSWD is to ensure that the city has a lot for the project, provide technical assistance to the city to implement the project, undertake regular monitoring, review reports, and provide feedback and recommendations to improve the implementation of the project, among others.
