Cocpo preparing for traslacion of Black Nazarene
AN official of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) on Tuesday, January 2, said security plan for the traslacion of the Black Nazarene in the city is already in place.
Cocpo spokesperson Chief Inspector Mardy Hortillosa II said rounds of coordination meetings with all concerned agencies and the church have already started in an effort to iron out all preparations for the procession on January 9.
Hortillosa said while there is already existing security measures based on the previous observance, there could still be changes in the guidelines.
The changes of the security protocols, Hortillosa said, will be based if there are new routes for the procession and other intelligence reports.
If there are adjustments, he said the police will then determine the number of police personnel to be deployed, traffic control scheme and the prohibitions that will be imposed for the devotees.
Hortillosa is also reminding private individuals or groups who will use drones to cover the procession to coordinate with the police and ask permission from the local government unit.
"Naa may drone ang PNP pero katong mga private kinahanglan mag secure og permit sa LGU,"Hortillosa said.
Hortillosa also reminds the devotees to heed and follow authorities especially on what and what not to do during the procession. "Katong gibawal sauna mao raman gihapon like dili magdala sa bata nga gagmay kay basin maipit, pagdala sa bag kay kung madudahan mahasol na hinoon ug uban pa,"Hortillosa said.
