City Hall organizes shirt gimmick for Valentine’s Day
City Hall will be awash with differently-colored shirts today, Valentine’s Day, after City Administrator Teddy Sabuga-a and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Northern Mindana0 issued a dress code directive for their officers and employees.
Sabuga-a urged employees to wear red shirt if they are “in a relationship”, green if “it’s complicated, gray if they are “single and contented”, blue for those who are broken hearted, and black for the “bitter”
persons on the love day.
He said orange should be worn for the employees who are “waiting and still hoping for someone to come”, pink if they are just “flirting”, violet for those who claim to have “no boyfriend or girlfriend since birth”, yellow for moving on, and brown for those who are “stuck in the friend zone”.
White shirt should be worn for those who prioritize their studies, while those who will choose to wear the city hall uniform, Sabuga-a said will be tagged as “kill joy”.
“Sa Valentine’s, we have issued a directive to wear their pag-ibig (love) status, just for this day. Let us take a break from the work, from the stress that was brought by the typhoon preparations. So today, we expect a colorful city hall,” he said.
A similar directive was issued by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Northern Mindanao “to show appreciation and affection during the Valentine’s day”.
The memo, signed by DILG-10 regional director Arnel Agabe enjoins all DILG-10 personnel to observe and follow the dress code that corresponds to the status of their lovelife.
Pink is for those “in love but will separate eventually”, red for those people who has proven that there is forever, white for those who are “single either by choice or no choice”, black for people who “used to be in love, hurt, and are still moving on”, while yellow for the couples who are in a long distance relationship.
Agabe assigned green for the persons who are contented, gray to show that he or she is still hoping, violet for married persons but “choked”, brown for those who are in a “langit siya-lupa ako”kind of relationship, and a sports fest shirt for those who simply do not care.
Valentine’s day is an anual holiday celebrated on February 14, honoring Saint Valentinus.
“They are required to wear the shirts that follows their status, but of course, those should be decent clothes. This is only for the office, pakulo lang ni siya, and to add fun for the workplace,” Agabe said.
