Eastern MisOr to deal with 10-hour power outage today

SOME parts of Misamis Oriental will have no electricity for 10 hours today, and another hour of power interruption due to switching works, the Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company Inc. (Cepalco) announced yesterday.

In an advisory, Cepalco said the 10-hour power outage will be implemented today to facilitate the installation of overhead ground wire of 69KV Line conductors of Kirahon-Tagoloan Line 2 along Sta. Ana road in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

The interruption time will start from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include crossing highway of Sta. Ana road to barangay Sto. Rosario and Maribojoc area; Greater part of Barangay Sta. Cruz along Sta. Ana road, barangay Mohon, and Barangay Sta. Ana including Bontong, Nasalaban, and Maribojoc areas; Phividec Sta. Cruz office and Polymedic Hospital.

The power distribution utility said it will also facilitate load transfer of power supply from M3 to M2 Metering point due to pole relocation works near Umalag Bridge, in Tablon, this city on Sunday, March 18.

Interruption time is scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 and 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m..

Areas affected are Cargill Philippines Inc. and Coca Cola plant in Villanueva town, including greater part of Poblacion from VillaLooc, Banban and Kalilangan down towards Katipunan and Dayawan up to LKKS-Villa and Phoenix Depot.

The Philippine Sinter Corporation in Villanueva will also be affected by a 30-minute switching works from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Other areas will also have to experience an hour and 30 minutes of power curtailment from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. due to the switching works.

These areas include all the villages of Sta. Cruz, Mohon, Sta. Ana, and Sto. Rosario in Tagoloan and Centro San Martin, Villanueva up to Solane, Pilipinas Shell including Kirahon Resettlement area and KSEC PV plant.

Cepalco said power will be restored immediately when switching works are all completed.
