12-hr blackout to hit eastern Oro on Sunday

ALMOST all villages in the eastern part of Cagayan de Oro City will have to experience 12 hours of power outage on Sunday, March 18.

In an advisory, the Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company Inc. (Cepalco) said it would facilitate the request of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the relocation of 69KV pole affected by Umalag bridge’s widening project.

Interrupti­on time will start from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Areas affected are the barangays of Lapasan, Gusa, Cugman, Tablon, Agusan, Puerto, Bugo, Camaman-an, Macasandig, Indahag and Balubal, including the vicinity of city hall; and Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

Other portions of the city will also experience power curtailmen­t for one hour and 30 minutes in the morning and afternoon due to switching works.

Interrupti­on time will start from 3:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Affected areas are the greater parts of the city proper and major portion of Nazareth; all of Kauswagan proper to Bonbon and Bayabas villages including greater portion of Barangay Bulua proper along National Highway.

The absence of electricit­y will also be experience­d by the barangays of Consolacio­n, Iponan, Puntod and Macabalan, including Julio-Pacana st.

Other barangays that will be affected are Upper Balulang and Barangay Lumbia, some portions of Upper Carmen along West Diversion Road from Crossing PN Roa Sr. Avenue down to Silver Creek Subd.

Meanwhile, the power distributi­on utility will also implement 30 minutes of power interrupti­on on Monday, March 19, due to switching works.

Affected areas are the greater portion of Carmen proper and upper Carmen, all of Macanhan, and all of lower Balulang; all of Patag including Camp Evangelist­a, Apovel and Terry Hills Subd. and Anhawon Bulua.

Cepalco said it will restore power immediatel­y when switching works are all completed.
