-

NORTHERN Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) secondary cagers and cagebelles fell short of making the medal circle in the 2018 Palarong Pambansa, which ended Sunday in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

The NMRAA bets were both relegated to fourth place in their respective divisions in secondary basketball games.

The wards of coach Bismark Labadan started strong in the elimination round with a clean 4-0 win-loss to advance in semifinal round of the secondary 3-on-3 basketball.

But, the National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) were too strong a hurdle in their bid to fight for gold.

The NMRAA cagers also suffered the same fate at the hands of Bicol region, losing by only 2 points in the battle for bronze.

The NMRAA cagebelles of coach Agustin Yasay finished fourth after losing to Calabarzon, 92-97, in the battle for bronze medal on Friday.

“I have nothing to say sa girls nako. They did a great job but was not just enough,” Yasay said.

NMRAA moved to the semifinal after beating Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA), 98-91.

But, Yasay’s charges bowed down to the much stronger and heftier National Capital Region Athletic Association, 63-100.

To their consolation, NMRAA’s Sheila Mae Godez was named the 3-point queen of the Palaro Meet after raining a bucket of 3-point baskets especially during their match with Central Luzon.
