Kuyamis sportsfest, May 5

THE Province of Misamis Oriental officially announced another edition of Kuyamis Sportsfest come May 5 at Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Center here.

No less than Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano will open the muchawaite­d event with more entries this time around.

From 15 the last season out, around 21 local government units have confirmed its participat­ion in the province’s premier sports program.

Emano welcomes newcomers from the municipali­ties of Balingoan, Lugait and Sugbongcog­on as well as the chartered city of Gingoog.

It also has Claveria and Opol as comebackin­g teams.

“Dako among kalipay nga nadugangan og entrante ang Kuyamis sportsfest labina katong namalik,” said Kuyamis sportsfest commission­er Prexy Elipe.

Among the regular entries include the municipali­ties of Alubijid, Binuangan, Gitagum, Initao, Jasaan, Lagonglong, Laguinding­an, Libertad, Magsaysay, Manticao, Naawan, Salay, Tagoloan, Villanueva and Talisayan.

he sportsfest will run for eight months and will end in time of the Kuyamis Festival in January next year.

Basketball and volleyball will be the sportsfest’s main attraction.

Basketball alone has four categories such as the LGU open, 25-under, 18-under and 14-under. While volleyball has three division in men and women’s open and 18-under category.
