MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano has announced on Monday, May 21, that he is leading a regional movement that aims to urge Christopher “Bong” Go to run for senator in the 2019 midterm elections.

Emano said he was appointed as regional chairman of “Sulong ang Pagbabago” movement for Northern Mindanao during its launching last Thursday, May 17, in Manila.

“Ako ang ilang gipili nga regional chairman sa Sulong ang Pagbabago movement sa regional level nga gilangkoban sa Misamis Occidental, Camiguin, Bukidnon ug Lanao del Norte,” Emano told the capitol workers during the flag raising rites at the capitol grounds yesterday.

The governor said the organization was formed to urge and support Go, the present special assistant to President Rodrigo Duterte, to vie for a senate seat in next year’s polls.

Emano said it would be an advantage for Mindanao if another Mindanaoan senator would represent the island in the upper chamber of congress.

The capitol’s top official also said it would be easier and beneficial for the

provincial government to get projects and programs once Go becomes successful in securing a senate seat.

“The intention of this organization is to urge special assistant to the president Bong Go to run for senator and hopefully once he will be able to run, achieve and win dako kaayo akong kalipay kay once more there will be another Mindanaoan who will be sitting in senate and bisaya so dili ta maglisod mangayo og programa ug proyekto,”Emano said.

Emano said alongside the launching of the movement is the oath taking joined in by governors and representatives across the country.
