The Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) has earned the commendation of the top cop in the country for besting other police regional offices in terms of crime reduction for the first half of the year.

In a statement released by PRO-10, PNP chief Oscar Albayalde lauded the Northern Mindanao police for the marked decrease in crime incidents in the region, during the command conference at the national headquarters in Camp Crame.

For the first semester, Northern Mindanao recorded a 40.27 percent decrease in total crime volume. The figure represents a decrease of 4,986 crime incidents compared to 2017.

“This clearly shows that our crime prevention program are effective,”PRO-Northern Mindanao director Chief Superintendent Timoteo Pacleb said.

The PRO-10 data showed a remarkable 65.99 percent decrease in robbery incidents and 71.52 percent decrease in theft cases from January to June 2018 compared to the same period last year.

Police said the significant drop in both categories placed PRO-10 in the top spot, besting other police regional offices nationwide.

Pacleb, likewise, commended all PRO-10 personnel for the concerted effort and urged all police units to continue working harder to further reduce crime incidents in the region.

“I wish to convey my

appreciation and gratitude to all units that has led to the high percentage reductions in crime volume, average monthly crime rate, index crime volume and average monthly index crime rate in Northern Mindanao for the 1st semester 2018. Never have we posted such significant gains against criminality in our region until now,”Pacleb said.

“Let us carry on until we attain a crime and drug free Northern Mindanao,”he added.
