- By Alwen Saliring

Former Cagayan de Oro City first district representative Benjo Benaldo is seeking a political comeback in next year’s midterm polls.

Benaldo, who sits as a member of the board of directors of the Phividec Industrial Authority (PIA) in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, said he would take the challenge should the party, Padayon Pilipino, field him to any electoral position next year.

“I’m a loyal member and secretary general of Padayon Pilipino,” Benaldo said.

Benaldo did not directly say what position he would prefer but hinted he may seek a position in the province since he is staying in Tagoloan town.

“Since I’m a party member I will not impose on the party but I will take anything for the party. Right now I am staying in Tagoloan because sa Phividec, “he added.

Benaldo has been seen in several politicsrelated activities in the city and province in support to Special Assistant to the President Bong Go who is reportedly seeking a senate seat in next year’s elections.

Benaldo added he is also often seen here to back the programs of the Duterte administration.

“Gitabangan nako si SAP Bong Go apil si Senator Cynthia Villar and as support sa mga programa ni President Duterte,”Benaldo said.

The Padayon Pilipino official also disclosed that the party is urging former Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Vicente Emano to run against Mayor Oscar Moreno for the mayorship in the election next year.

“The party is encouraging him to run because I saw him very healthy compared before but he didn’t say anything definite yet,”he added.
