Strict monitoring of DTRs at the legislative department

- By Alwen Saliring

Cagayan de Oro City vice mayor Rainier Joaquin Uy on Thursday said he would assure that attendance and Daily Time Records (DTR) of workers in the legislative body will be strictly monitored under his watch.

Uy made the statement following the conviction of former city councilor President Elipe and sister Pristine Quizon from the Sandiganbayan which stemmed from a ‘falsified’ DTR.

“Strikto atong pagmonitor sa atong mga empleyado ilabi na dinhi sa Vice Mayor’s office (We have a strict system for monitoring employees especially here at the Vice mayors’s odffice). Dili gyud na pwede ang pagtikas sa DTR kay gapirmahan ko na per week (We never allow falsified DTRs because I sign them each week),” Uy said.

He said the Human Resources Office and the administrator’s office are also checking the DTR of the employees to ensure that they are not manipulated and altered.

Uy said regular employees are doing the biometrics for their attendance while workers under job order status, including

those hired by each councilor are signing a log book for their DTR.

The logbook, he said, will be forwarded then to the finance office for the processing of the salary.

He said nothing had changed in the process of recording the attendance.

“Kanang sa mga JO sa mga councilor ila na pud nang call and responsibility (Councilors are accountable for JOs assigned to them). Mo-certify gihapon ang councilor sa ilang DTR(Councilors will still have to certify their DTR),”Uy said.

He said the fate of Elipe and his sister should serve as stern warning for employees in the legislative body.

“Nakasala man siya sa balaod and so far wala gyud nato na gi-practice ang kanang ilang gihimo ug dili angay nga sundon (He broke the law and so far we never committed such crime and it should not be followed) ,”Uy said.
