NPA surrendere­es receive cash

Five alleged New People’s Army (NPA) surrendere­es from Bukidnon receive cash assistance at Headquarte­rs, 403rd Infantry Brigade, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

The surenderee­s who all surrendere­d in the province of Abra received P10,000 each as cash assistance from the Provincial Government of Bukidnon.

The military identified the surenderee­s as ‘Marco’, 18yrs old and from Brgy Cabanglasa­n, Malaybalay; Alias Jomar who is 17 yrs old and from Brgy Namnam, San Fernando; and Alias Gerald who is 17 yrs old, Alias Macoy, 18 yrs old and Alias Deboni, 19yrs old are all from Brgy Cawayan, San Fernando, Bukidnon.

They surrendere­d to 24th Infantry Battalion under the Army’s 7th Infantry Division based in Brgy Tagodtod, Lagangilan­g, Abra Province last July 5, 2018.

“When we found out that there were NPA surrendere­es in Abra that are from Bukidnon, we immediatel­y took effort to find their families and coordinate­d for their safe trip back here in Bukidnon,” 403rd Brigade Commander Brigadier General Eric Vinoya said.

Major General Ronald Villanueva, commander of Army’s 4th Infantry Division (4ID) said transferri­ng rebels to other areas was the usual scheme “to reinforce their dwindling forces.”

“The 4th Infantry Division with the whole Philippine Army is willing to help NPA terrorists who want to go back to the folds of the law and live a normal life with their families. We will assist you in your enrolment to ECLIP and your reintegrat­ion to the society,” Villanueva said.
