MisOr bags CMGP, SGLG awards

-

The provincial government of Misamis Oriental has passed the interior department’s assessment for Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) which would translate to more funds for capitol’s projects and programs.

In a capitol press briefer, the capitol obtained 81.67 percent or 98 over 120 maximum points in terms of the number of infrastructure project implementation in the province.

The capitol said it could have gotten a perfect score if not because of the delay of some projects due to bad weather.

Dr. Josefino Bascug, Provincial Planning and

Development Office head, said the Misamis Oriental obtained the highest score compared to other provinces in the region.

With this, the provincial capitol is expecting that more financial grants will be awarded next year from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through the CMGP, otherwise known as Kalsada Program.

The amount of the fund will depend on the score garnered during the assessment. The capitol is a consistent passer of CMGP since Governor Emano sat as governor in 2013.

The capitol also obtained the DILG’s Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG). (Alwen Saliring)
