MisOr drug war: 85 arrested in 3rd quarter

-

At least 85 suspected drug personalities in Misamis Oriental have been arrested by the agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Northern Mindanao (PDEA-10) in various anti-illegal drug operations in the third quarter of this year.

This was the report received by Governor Yevgeny Emano from the anti-narcotics agency during the recent Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting.

The PDEA-Northern Mindanao reported that of the said figure, 82 were suspected drug peddlers while the three were nabbed after caught possessing the dangerous drug items.

These drug suspects were arrested during the 80 operations launched by the PDEA-Misamis Oriental agents in just three months.

The data showed that 64 were arrested during drug bust; nine during the implementation of search warrant; and one was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant.

Among the arrested suspects, nine were figured in the target list of the agency.

Anti-illegal drug operatives have revealed that drug suspects are using cellphones, “runners”, and even child couriers in the illegal drug trade.

The anti-narcotics agency also said it has continued the barangay drug clearing program in the province to save more villages from the menace of the illicit drugs.

Emano has thanked the PDEA for its efforts in carrying out the government’s war on drugs. Alwen Saliring
